Cold Brew Coffee

Cold Brew Coffee

This is how I made cold brew coffee for the first time in a long time on 2018-09-17!

Equipment

  • Toddy brewer
  • scale
  • water pitcher

Ingredients

  • 1.656 L RO Water
  • 340 g Coffee

Procedure

  • Wet toddy filter
  • Put plug into bottom of toddy maker
  • Put filter into bottom of toddy maker
  • Add 237g Water to toddy maker
  • Grind 170g Coffee (75g + 75g + 30g – to weigh easily) on setting 28 on Virtuoso
  • Gently add coffee on top of water in toddy maker
  • Add 710g water to toddy maker in a circular motion (spinning toddy maker)
  • Wait 5 minutes
  • Grind 170g Coffee (75g + 75g + 30g – to weigh easily) on setting 28 on Virtuoso
  • Weigh out 710g water
  • Add coffee to toddy maker, distributing evenly
  • Add water to toddy maker in a circular motion (spinning toddy maker)
  • Any coffee that is not submerged can be pushed down under the water with the back of a spoon
  • Cover with plastic wrap
  • Put into wine fridge at 55°F at 20:50 MDT
