Because he might be wrong if he laughs. And if he's wrong, you might not like him anymore. And if you don't like him anymore, he might not have access to all the good things you do. If he doesn't have access to those things, and he might need them in the future, he'll die. That's how his brain is working. He can't tell you all of that, but if you understand why he does that and help explain it to him, he can stop having that problem.

If you want to hijack a plane effectively, you don't do it by force. You find the solution to making people want to let you hijack the plane. If people have a reason to do something, they will do it. But in order to always have a good reason, you'll find you must be altruistic and love everyone. If you love everyone, why hijack the plane?

I don't know whether this is true or not, but it's irrelevant. You're miserable because the group of neurons that fire when you're miserable are also firing when the hot temperature neurons are firing and all the neurons that let you know you're outside are firing. Your brain has developed in exactly that way, and because the same rules apply to matter across the entire universe, your brain has no choice but to follow the laws of physics and effect your idea of miserableness.

If you don't want SOPA to pass, it's quite simple. You simply don't let it affect you. If it doesn't make sense, there's no reason to abide by it. Because if there is a reason for everything you do, you will be the most innocent man in the world. After all, that's what courts are supposed to figure out: get reasons when we don't know all the details.

The only problem we can solve is the one in front of us, and until SOPA directly stops

I'd call them up and ask myself, but it's not business hours yet in EST, and they're located in Pennsylvania.

It's going to happen soon again. There will be a massive spreading of ideas, except it will be what Jesus would have been if he hadn't been killed, and was allowed to continue spreading his good ideas that made sense in people's lives.

That's all Jesus ever really did. He had good ideas, and when he told them to people, it made sense to them. Because those ideas made people's lives better, they flocked to Jesus, because they associated Jesus with good ideas.

Then it snowballs through generations. You tell your kids about this cool guy Jesus who has some good ideas. Then your kids say their parents knew this amazing guy named Jesus who always had the answers. Until we reach now, where Jesus has turned from a guy into this idea that we've built up and idolized through the generations.

You get lots of cardboard boxes and you spend everyday learning how each one works. Your brain will start to extrapolate patterns. You will slowly begin to learn what works and what doesn't. You won't be able to notice it, but you'll slowly start to recognize how you can fix a problem. At that point, you've made a better box, and all you have to do is tell people your idea.

It's as simple as that.

Yes, it does. Because maybe they'll do enough research on him to realize he's not prepared to handle the problems of this country. They're not going to learn not to vote for him when you say he's some bodily excrement. Only the people who already understand why Santorum is a joke will laugh at it. The rest will get enraged and defensive, and end up being more stubborn, and refusing to listen to reason from you in the future.

You need to explain exactly why Santorum isn't prepared to solve the problems his voters think he will solve. If you can give someone a reason to believe something, they will choose it over something with no reason any day. Explain it to them in terms they can understand.
