Night before Thoughts

Creating a new gist on my phone. I've just added a gist icon to the phone home page. Speaking and writing and capturing and gathering my thoughts. All in a public manner that can be shared and revisions viewed. Cool!

Now I am editing this note for a second time. I'm just wondering how easy it is to create a note, save it and then come back to it later. It seems quite easy. One issue is that you have to do this in the desktop version. And so on a phone in portrait mode the text is totally tiny and unreadable. Again, this is perhaps another reason for creating an Ace-based editor until such time as GitHub come up with a mobile version of their gist editor.

So this is no easier than editing an Evernote note. But the difference is this is a gist and can be read by anybody. It's the equivalent of a blog post - For Better or Worse. Whereas Evernote data is locked down into the hard disk and private.

Calls

I had a nice chat with Cynthia. Just as I was waking up. She's all set for a friday-to-sunday trip down to SLO. Will Amtrak back on Sunday afternoon. I did mention the article about feminism that I mentioned to her last week. I had sent her a link and added a opinion about things to that message. I told her something like maybe the message was right or maybe the opinion was wrong. But I need a place where I can make mistakes and be corrected. And this should happen within the family rather than in public. And I asked for her forbearance in judging what I write...

Also talked with Alix in Paris. I will drive her down to Tustin. Probably spend the night with Allison on the way back. Now just meet need to make sure that we have a place to stay in SLO.

the future of electricity

Following up on my post from 2011, and Alex's email comma what will be some other things that free electricity will help engender? How about growing food. Here is a relevant article: https://medium.com/food-is-the-new-internet/the-rise-of-small-farm-robots-365e76dbdac1#.ycvc48omo - about growing food in vertical Farms almost in air with very little water and no dirt. And lots of electricity period and water being sprayed where it was needed Dash along with the chemicals. This manner of growing food could become ubiquitous. This might mean The Disappearance of forms as we know them. All those acres in the midwest could go back to the buffalo. And even mastodons. Food would be grown near where people live in warehouses. And that would be all sorts of new things because of genetic engineering. Meat that was partially vegetable and vice versa. Pepper spicier than you can imagine. In other words New Taste could evolve.

Of course, that would still be some traditional farming and Gardens just for flowers and beauty. And there my little miniature robots would be doing the watering and weeding and moving bugs to Safe places - I have talked about elsewhere.

dictation

I have moved my little pixel C over to the left. It's on my little wooden table next to the pixel C. Here is the very very strange thing. When I want to dictate and right email I need to turn to the left. Turning to the right just does not work. I have no reason why. It is all very strange.Very Psychological.

I think it must have something to do with having only one hand. When I reach with my right hand it actually moves forward and to the left. If I move to the right my right hand has to move back into the right. A back hand movement not a forehand movement. Does that help explain why my computer is have to be on the left?

Anyway, I am dictating into a GitHub gist at faster miles an hour. And it only works on my pixel C. Because of the large screen, the physical keyboard and because of the voice recognition on non Google apps. I have tried using the Chromebook for voice recognition but it does not work on just any website. You have to be using something like Google Docs.

Now let's do some coding. It's 1:33 p.m.

Thing to remember: Say the time before starting a new topic!

Diet

Good little snack boxes that I like that have so much cheese carrots and apple slices tend to have about 360 calories per box. The salad bowls that I buy that are about 7 ounces only have about 260 calories per box. Some only have say 200 calories. So I am quite a bit better off by eating salad boxes then snack boxes. I could eat perhaps five solid boxes and Ani have arrived at 1500 calories in a day. The new rule is buy more solid boxes! And feel free to eat more than one in a day. Also I must be more careful about making my own salad dressing with real olive oil then the last nice salad dressing provided by the salad box.

By the way, it must be remembered is that when I do these solids that I take them out of the plastic box - nice as it may be. And I put it into a real salad bowl and eat the salad with real Cutlery not with the plastic fork that's provided. Let's eating eating as a civilized enjoyable experience and not a rush rush throw away experience.

Coding / Fillet Two Lines

Success at last. Now can we go on to fill it in a polyline with many vertices. That is to say an irregular polygon. A couple of things still left to fix here, but that will give me a good start for working on the polyline issue.

So what's in this something that I've been thinking about for a long time which Three.js and 3D. It's very nice to have at least the beginning of a solution at last.

Dinner Tonight

Nice dinner tonight with Paul Masson at Fuzios. We talked a lot about William Stein and Sage Math. In particular about the post that occurred on Hacker News. There are a lot of interesting possibilities. I hope I can help Paul direct his energies in the project in positive and useful ways.

The Drumpf

The number of politicians and columnists are describing Donald Trump as a fascist in comparing him to Hitler.

I don't think this is really a valid comparison. Hitler comma Stalin and Chairman Mao all had a mission to change the world. All that mr. Trump wants to do is have fun.

So who might be better choices?

David Naylor suggested that Joe McCarthy might be a better choice. I very much agree with this thought. Any others?
