#UI Engineer - Browser JavaScript
2Checkout UI Engineers are not jerks, in fact they are a friendly folk who generally enjoy what they do for a living. If you're also not a jerk and the following applies to you, then we'd really like to meet you.
##You
- Appreciate feedback when it's specific, actionable, and kind.
- Don't think you've got this programming thing figured out, but you're sure excited about it some of the time. (Nobody is excited about their job all of the time.)
##You're also already good at, or interested in learning more about:
- Vanilla JavaScript fundamentals, or whatever other ice cream flavored JavaScript metaphors that work for you.
- Building single page apps using a JS framework, specifically EmberJS
- Automated testing, both unit and integration
- Implementing a rad user interface
- Writing code that's easier to read
- Working with a team that loves solving problems for humans
- Git
We love working with folk who are new to building UI's with JavaScript & HTML, but we have to balance that with making sure we have enough experienced folk around to teach the newbies. Right now we need both.
##We consider experienced UI Engineers ones that
- Know enough CSS to structure a page layout
- Question job postings that list HTML as a discreet skill
- Spend most of their professional time editing JavaScript files. (or editing files that compile to JavaScript)
