YTSideloadSignInFix no longer works. This guide might still work but I'm not quite sure.
This workaround may no longer be needed; inject YTSideloadSignInFix to be able to sign in to your tweaked YouTube app. This guide will still be here future reference if need be.
Workaround for blocked sign-ins on sideloaded YouTube apps on iOS (last tested on YouTube v17.36.3 on Sep 11, 2022)
Note: It is recommended that you go through this guide entirely before following along and attempting it yourself.
- "Fix YouTube Sign-In" Siri shortcut: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/c9ab07183d7241fa97e5727b43d07fc0.
- YouTube app from the App Store. You should now have two YouTube apps, one sideloaded and one from the App Store.
- Open the Shorcuts app and run the "Fix YouTube Sign In" shorcut.
- An alert will show up; read it VERY carefully. Press "OK" to continue.
- Open the sideloaded YouTube app and attempt to sign in, but DO NOT enter an email just yet.
- Long-press on the URL (🔒 accounts.google.com) and copy it.
- Return to the Shortcuts app.
- Another alert will show up; again, read it carefully. Press "OK" to continue.
- Open the regular YouTube app (the one from the App Store) and attempt to sign in, but DO NOT enter an email just yet.
- Long-press on the URL (🔒 accounts.google.com) and copy it.
- Return to the Shortcuts app.
- The sign-in page will show up. If you have done everything correctly, you should be able to sign in with your credentials.
- Once you're done, an alert will show up asking if you want to open YouTube; press "OK".
- Profit? 🎉
