Alpenglow Community Cluster Setup Instructions

The Alpenglow community cluster is ready for validators to join! The cluster is currently waiting for super majority to start. Validators will likely join over the next few days. If you are not part of the gensis set, we can delegate to your validator afterwards.

Operators should do the following to join the cluster:

1. Checkout the alpenglow branch from Ashwin’s github:

git clone https://github.com/AshwinSekar/solana.git agave
cd agave
git fetch
git checkout ag-v0.1

2. Build the alpenglow branch from source.

3. Export the following environment variable to report metrics:

export SOLANA_METRICS_CONFIG="host=https://metrics.solana.com:8086,db=alpenglow-testnet,u=ag,p=!d.tWEViQRhhP.*be9!a"

4. Use the following startup script to join the cluster. Make sure you use the agave-validator binary that you built in step 2. You should see version 4.1.0-alpha.0 when running agave-validator --version

5. Run agave-validator -l <ledger> monitor to make sure your validator is waiting for super majority.
