DIT4C usability meeting

Teaching - potentially very useful

Actual Research - not really powerful enough:

  • Data sets are big.
  • Already have access to 80 core machines.
  • No SSH in.
  • No Sublime Text editor.
  • Not sure cloud services are stable enough.

Essentially as researchers they can use SSH just fine, and better resources are already available, so why bother?

Suggested improvements:

  • Snapshoting of projects to use as new base images.
  • Easy sharing of projects with a group.
  • Export docker container.
  • Image display in interactive console.
