Disable OS X System Sound Effects

Create a new aiff audio file in GarageBand about a second long, "Share"->"Export..."->"Save as silence.aif"

Easier, download the audio file I created: https://github.com/todgru/dotfiles/raw/master/silence.aif

Save audio file to ~/Library/Sounds.
Open "System Settings" application.
In "Sounds", Select "silence" from drop down list(see screenshot).

Enjoy the silence. 😎
