Apparently many are not failure with the world war 2 plans found in Greenland.. If the ice formed over these planes by as much as 260 feet in just 46 years then it is clear that an ice sheet 2 mil. thick could accumulate in just 1869 years not 100,000 years. One year per ice layer in the core samples is clearly BS. Do the math.. 260 Y/ 46 ft = 5.652 ft per year...2 mi. of ice 5280 * 2 = 10560 ft / 5.652 ft per year = 1868.36 years.
After all if uniformitarianism 's is true then the amount of ice accumulation in the last 100,000 years should be the same as it has been over the last 46 years right? That would be 260 feet / 46 years * 100,000 years would be 565,217.3913 feet / 5280 feet per mile = 107.05 miles of ice... So according to ice core theory and uniformitarianism the ice caps should be over 107 miles thick. But that is not what we see. Not even close...Therefore the assumptions that one layer = one year must be wrong and using ice layer dating is pointless.
They proclaim "ONE LAYER PER YEAR"... Right... Tell me, dose it really take an individual with a PhD to cut into a 3 month old snow bank found in your own back yard and count the many layers? Do you really think that the snow falling in your back yard will behave any different then it dose anywhere else? Why do you allow the so called "EDUCATED" to lead you around like a horse with blinders on. Taking everything they say as empirical proof despite the fact that it can be so easily disproven.
Do yourself a favor. Go watch a documentary about snow avalanche prevention. It will clearly prove that snow can and dose form many more than one layer per year, even more than one a day. 100,000 thousand year old ice ...BS.
I am not saying that the ice cores are proof that the earth is less than 10,000 yo. But...... if more than one layer dose indeed get deposited each year than the ice cores cannot be used as a reliable source of data as to the history of the climate of the past nor the age of the ice sheets themselves. (or proof that the earth is 100,000 years old or older.) It does not take a PhD to dig into a one 3 month old snow bank and count the layers.
What about the Oxygen isotopes used to show the worm/cold cycles of summer and winter in the layering of the ice cores?
The Oxygen isotopes used to show the yearly layering in the ice cores is a complete joke... The premise is that temperature variations from winter and summer can cause different evaporation rates of the different isotopes of Oxygen. These oxygen isotopes get trapped in the snow as bubbles. During the warmer months one isotope is more abundant in the layer and during the colder months the other one is more abundant. Scientists use these bubbles of trapped oxygen isotopes to indicate the summer layers from the winter layers.
Fact: Snow, even after it settles onto the ground remains 90% air and is highly permeable until enough snow has accumulated above it to compress it into ice. Until it has been compressed into ice, gasses of all sorts including all isotopes of oxygen will have no problem moving in and out of the snow with the changing barometric pressure.
So, how many feet of snow must accumulate before the bubbles become locked and isolated, and free of possible contamination: so as to be used to designate the yearly layers? How much time would it take to accumulate that required snow?
Sorry to inform you, but by the time enough snow has accumulated to compact the snow into ice and ensure those little time capsules (AKA bubbles) to form, any isotopes that may have been present at the time the snow fell will have long been contaminated. The bubbles will be rendered useless for determining winter from summer snow falls.
