ID.me Senior Rails Developer job description

Senior Ruby on Rails Developer at ID.me

Location: Tyson's Corner, VA

TL;DR

ID.me is seeking a talented Ruby on Rails developer to add to our team. Applicants should have 5+ years of experience developing for the web with a solid command of Ruby, Rails and related technologies.

About ID.me

ID.me (https://www.id.me) is the first digital verification solution capable of identity attributes e.g. Military, Student, Teacher, First Responder, etc. so that merchants can securely deliver loyalty programs to eligible customers, whether in-store or digitally, without fear of fraud. TechCrunch hailed our approach to digital identity as a potential model for the future identity ecosystem. Current customers include Overstock.com, Sam’s Club, Sears, Under Armour, Tough Mudder, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and more name brands.

We like to keep it loose in the office. While wearing pants is encouraged (legal constraints), there are very few rules in our company. We look for nice people who work hard, learn fast and don’t mind taking risks even if that means failing sometimes. We want mission-driven, fun, and friendly co-workers because that’s our culture.

There aren’t hard and fast rules on work hours especially since most of us do our best work at night. As long as you can communicate effectively and show up on time for important meetings, you’ll have a lot of flexibility with your schedule.

Desired Traits

  • Team player first and foremost
  • Solid, demonstrable experience developing consumer-facing web applications
  • Solid Ruby on Rails development experience
  • Comfortable working with HTML5, CSS3, HAML, SASS/SCSS, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Solid experience with DBs (we use Postgres), DB design, models and ORMs
  • Source control with Git and GitHub
  • Obsession with writing clean, well tested and maintainable code
  • Strong self-managing work ethic
  • Passion for what you do at and away from work

Perks

  • Competitive salary, equity & benefits package
  • Your choice of Apple hardware
  • Flexible schedules (we operate to standard, not to time)
  • Relocation assistance available

Bottom Line

We're a small, close-knit team look to make a big impact. If you think you have what it takes to join Team Awesome, send us a note at [email protected].

No agencies or third party consultants please. Violations will result in two former Army Rangers (our founders) showing up at your doorstep.
