Sr. / Principal Engineer @String Labs / DFINITY Project

You will be joining a global team of leading cryptographers and distributed computing researchers to develop DFINITY blockchain - world's first infinitely scalable and decentralized cloud. It is an Ethereum family system that introduces decentralized governance via a "Blockchain Nervous System"​ and new third generation network protocols and cryptography.

If you identify with one or more of the following:

  • excel in designing complex algorithms and systems, e.g. peer-to-peer network, virtual machine / compiler, and etc.
  • have strong academic (PhD level or similar) and/or professional background in distributed computing / consensus algorithms / cryptography / security engineering / math
  • believe in open source development

DFINITY World Compute Platform

DFINITY is an Ethereum family system that introduces decentralized governance via a "Blockchain Nervous System"​ and new third generation network protocols and cryptography. Specifically, DFINITY is a P2P network that produces a scalable virtual computer for decentralized cloud computing. The virtual computer is backed by decentralized protocol execution rather than physical servers, giving it different properties - it has no geography and is unstoppable and tamperproof - offering profound opportunities for business reengineering. For example an international financial exchange might be created and maintained at extremely low cost. Currently we are working with Boston Consulting Group DV with regards to corporate applications.

Phi Autonomous Commercial Banking

Phi is designed to run on decentralized cloud platforms such as DFINITY and Ethereum. The system mimics the way traditional currency such as the dollar or euro is created by commercial banks when they give out loans (traditional currency is really an IOU secured by liens on borrower's assets and personal guarantees). Autonomous Phi systems grant loans algorithmically using professional human "validators"​ as proxies, who are constrained by game theoretic considerations. Several international corporations have expressed interest in being validators.

Our team has a diverse background, and includes some of the world's leading engineers and researchers in cryptography, distributed computing & security, as well as renowned legal / finance scholars and designers.
