startups, failiures, successes |
Age | Name | Description | Result | Success/Fail | Reason for Success/Fail Descison |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
9 | Plate Hanger Cross Bows | I would take my mom's plate handers (metal rings w/ springs) and bend them into little cross bows that could shoot sticks | Traded several of these for soda's with a kid who lived on the otherside of the fence | Success | In my eyes I traded created value and traded an item for something of greater value |
11 | Candy Sales | My dad would take me to Smart & Final to buy candy in bulk which I would then resell at school | Sold for a few weeks, eventually a teacher found out and confiscated my cache | Success | Actually made decent cash for a 5th grader (I dont remember how much, but I do remember my wallet being full) |
15 | Ceramics Sales | Sold some ceramic creations to other students | Made decent money for some work that took zero effort | Fail | Used my art in a way that I dont appreciate after looking back on this experience |
17 | Ebay Arbitrage | Resold a few basic items on ebay | Sold a few items, made a few bucks | Fail | Ended up taking way too much effort, not a worth while task |
22 | Chicken Farm | Sent reused electronics to Zimbabwe which were resold and used to buy chickens | My contact in Zim was in a buscrash that apparently killed the chickens | Fail | The business definitely failed, but my contact in Zim was able to buy a house so I count that as a win |
