A simple franzbrotchen recipe to make 4-5 portions

2 x 7g yeast | |
125ml warm milk | |
250g plain flour | |
35g powdered sugar | |
35g soft butter | |
pinch salt | |
100g soft butter | |
100g powdered sugar | |
2 teaspoons cinnamon | |
put yeast in milk and let sit for 10 min | |
mix flour, sugar, butter and salt with milk | |
knead dough and let sit 40 min covered | |
Mix sugar and butter and put in fridge to cool | |
flatten dough | |
spatula to spread sugar/butter mix over flatten dough, put cinnamon on dough and then spread sugar/butter on top | |
roll it | |
make angled cuts in roll every 4 cm and place pieces with small side facing up on baking sheet | |
let rise under cover for 15 min and preheat oven to 220 degrees | |
put in oven for 8 min at 220 degrees or until golden brown |
