- Read Getting started with server development.
- Join relevant Slack channels.
- Setup a picture and update your name and job position in Slack.
- Get access to Trello and join relevant boards.
- Join mailing lists.
- Get yourself added to "calendar events".
- Get admin rights for local and staging environment.
- Get access to terminal machine by sending your public SSH key to our ops. Find a volunteer ops person from #ads-techops Slack channel.
- Get personal AWS credentials from Ops.
- Read and understand Ads microservices intiative.
- Pick a small task from a Trello board, work on it, make a PR and get it merged.
- Watch Business explanation videos from Getting to know the Ads business section.
- Go through our dashboards with Segrel.
- Get access to New Relic.
- Get access to Google Analytics.
- Get access to Papertrail.
- Deploy a "regular project" such as ads-selfserve or publisher-admin.
- Deploy comet (ad delivery).
- Get a production database dump.
- Review somebody else's Pull Request
