There has been a bit of confusion between Staff and Players about what is acceptable and what isn't on VikkCraft. Whether it be right here on our forums or on the server itself, we do have rules that you all must follow in order to keep VikkCraft a friendly place for everyone!
No use of hacked clients or any client for that matter that gives you an advantage over anyone else. This also extends to using external programs that interact with the Minecraft client to provide an unfair advantage. Examples of this include macros or autoclickers or increase your click speed. If we have evidence of you doing this on our server you will be banned. If you see anyone in game who you think is using a hacked client then please either notify a staff member to take a look or if you can, record the offender in action and post a player report here.
We consider a few things to be trolling here at VikkCraft, let's go through it.
- Don't pretend to be a member of staff or large YouTuber on the server. This includes claiming that you are staff, threatening to take action on a user or otherwise threatening power in a form of blackmail. We take it very seriously; impersonation will lead to severe punishment.
- Don’t trick players into doing something they do not want to do or are unaware of. Such as tricking someone to leave a lobby or quit the game.
- Don’t do anything that would stop a game from ending or progressing. A lot of people come on to record matches or just want to enjoy a few quick games. It is then very frustrating to players that are held up for extended periods of time. Play fair, if you have no intention of continuing in the match or need to go AFK for longer than a couple of minutes then leave the match. If you are caught slowing down gameplay for those reasons or similar then you may be punished.
- No claiming to have hacks or to be hacking on the server, we have the right as staff to take action on people who do this.
No swearing of any kind on our servers no matter what the situation is. We have players of different ages on our servers as Minecraft is a family friendly game, we’d like to keep it that way. This includes abbreviations too, if what you are saying is inclining to be swearing then just don’t say it. We will take action on anyone who uses swear words even if the inappropriate language was used in /msg or private faction chats. We are also an English only server, we do not allow you to speak in other languages in the chat. This is so we can still moderate the chat effectively as most of our staff can only understand English.
Profanity in your Minecraft name will result in a 30 day ban, during that time you are expected to change your name. If you change your name during the 30 day ban then contact a member of staff on the forums and your temporary ban will be removed.
I want to keep this one simple, no advertising anything that isn’t VikkCraft or Vikk related. You may not advertise your YouTube Channel or Stream in the chat. You also are not allowed to discuss, advertise or get people to join rivalling server to ours. You may talk about small servers that you use with your friends.
No exploiting glitches that you find on maps or plugins. It is strictly against the rules and will be taken in the same way as hacking. This includes finding ways outside of the map or exploiting deathmatch bugs in Survival Games. If you find a glitch please report it here on the forums!
This means a varied amount of things, I’ll try to cover the basis of what we mean by this here.
We strictly do not allow discrimination in any form at VikkCraft, whether it is racism, sexism, ageism or anything against a religion or disability. If we believe what you are saying is a form of discrimination we will take action.
Here at VikkCraft if you are caught threatening players (for example, DDoS threats, death threats, etc) this will result in a very long restriction if not permanent.
If you know someone else's personal information (for example, names, addresses, IP addresses, etc) we expect you not to share that information on the server/forums. Sharing such information will result in a permanent restriction being applied.
As staff here at VikkCraft we expect the same level of respect that you would expect from us. So please don’t challenge us constantly on the server if there’s an issue, make a post on the forums about it and we will deal with it as soon as we can. If you believe a member of our staff is misusing their role then please inform a higher member of staff. Our staff members give up their own free time to the server to help make it a better place for all of you. Please give them the same level of respect that we ask you to give to other players.
If you commit an offence on our servers you will be punished with either a Mute or Ban depending on the offence. It can also vary from temporary restrictions which last for up to a few days to a permanent restriction which will not expire.
If you are under a restriction you must not use any method of bypassing it. The main method of this is by using an alternative Minecraft account. If you are caught using the server on an alternative account while you have a restriction on your original account both accounts will be banned indefinitely. We are able to check for alternative accounts so please stick to the rules.
Assisting or helping other players evade punishments will lead to you also being punished. For example: talking to or messaging a banned player when it's clear you know who they are and not informing a staff member, inviting a banned player to your faction or clan, or teaming up with a banned player knowing that they are evading a punishment. Refusing to release information to staff members about users bypassing punishments is not allowed, and will lead to you being punished. If you know a player is bypassing a punishment, please inform a staff member.
Restriction lengths are judged on an individual basis but here is how we enforce the majority of mutes and bans:
1st Mute = 3 Hours
2nd Mute = 1 Day
3rd Mute = 3 Days
4th Mute = Permanent
1st Ban = 1 Day
2nd Ban = 3 Days
3rd Ban = 5 Days
4th Ban = Permanent
Appealing any restrictions can only be done in the first 2 weeks from the date enforced. You may only appeal permanent restrictions, temporary restrictions cannot be appealed.
So previous to this we have always had a lot of confusion between staff and players regarding which mods are allowed and which are not. I have therefore decided to change the way we do things here, I have compiled together a list of mods that are allowed to be used on our server. If it is not on this list don’t use it as you could likely receive a ban. However as new mods are always being made feel free to make us aware on the fourms of mods you think should be added. We will review them and add it to this list if we feel it will be suitable.
