Privacy Policy

DeepWatch Last updated: December 31, 2024

Our Commitment

DeepWatch is built with one purpose: to help you reclaim your attention from addictive short-form content. We believe your data belongs to you, and we have no interest in it.

Data Collection

We collect nothing. Zero. None.

  • No personal information
  • No usage analytics
  • No tracking
  • No telemetry
  • No crash reports sent to any server
  • No network requests of any kind

Data Storage

All data stays 100% local on your device:

  • Your settings (countdown duration, cooldown time)
  • Your statistics (intervention counts)

This data is stored in Android's private app storage and is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app.

Permissions

DeepWatch requires two permissions to function:

Permission Why We Need It What We Do
Accessibility Service To detect when you navigate to YouTube Shorts We only monitor YouTube app. We do not read, store, or transmit any content.
Display Over Other Apps To show the blocking overlay We only display our intervention screen. Nothing else.

We use these permissions solely to show you a pause screen when you're about to enter YouTube Shorts. That's it.

No Account Required

  • No sign-up
  • No login
  • No email collection
  • No account creation

This will never change. We will never add accounts or sign-up requirements in any future version.

No Ads, No Monetization of Your Data

  • No advertisements
  • No data selling
  • No partnerships that involve your data
  • No analytics SDKs

Network Access

DeepWatch makes zero network requests. The app works entirely offline. We don't have servers. We don't have a backend. There's nowhere for your data to go even if we wanted it.

Third-Party Services

We use none. No Firebase, no analytics, no crash reporting services, no ad networks.

Children's Privacy

DeepWatch does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this policy, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date
  • Maintain our commitment to zero data collection
