Few comments since the current Atlas2011.hh is quite defective in terms of the amount of information and how it is stored. Going with input files was meant to add flexibility. In particular (some random things I remember from a discussion we had with Andi and Dominik in April 2013):

  • in ATLAS, 2011 run, Electron efficiencies, we may have multiple variation of electrons (as is now shown above), but the pt and eta range for the grids may differ for each
  • we would like to have the possibility of keeping track of where those numbers are coming from.
  • we would like to store the efficiency either as a grid or as an interpolating formula, depending on the case
  • we should be able to specify the default pt and eta ranges per-subobject (e.g. for each type of electrons) and if absent we should default back to an "electron default" (of course they can also be overridden in the analysis itself).
  • for taus and bjets, we should group the efficiency and rejection into a same object. additionally for taus there's also the 1 and 3 prongs distinction (above is "Sing" and "Mult" in the names).
  • personally I would demote the "2011 run" from a level in the hierarchy to a label of the object as we do for the references to where the numbers were extracted. Different objects have changed differently within runs (some stayed the same between 2011 and 2012, some changed, some changed within a run itself because lumi changed).
  • I would make names more readable (again we are not forced to use variable names as with #define statements in an header file)
