I am a programming enthusiast who enjoys solving problems, exploring pathways towards automation, and developing new tools. A particular interest of mine is discovering new methods for automating data workflows to make data more useful and accessible. My 7 years as a public school teacher have afforded me ample opportunities to use data to make decisions, as well as an awareness of the frustration that can occur when data is difficult to access.
Since the fall of 2018, I have sought to learn and experiment with different tools for working with data: google sheets, google apps scripts, javascript, and more recently, python and SQL. On a handful of occasions over the past 3 years, I have also received extended contract pay from my employer to develop spreadsheets and spreadsheet based applications for managing and tracking student assessment data.
In the summer of 2022 I made the decision to transition out of public education, and I am now currently engaged in learning programming full time.
