Unsolicited Praise
One thing that I have done the past few years is save bits of praise that have come my way from various people over the years. I find it rewarding to save these kinds of notes. They help me remember how I impacted people’s lives by the project that I work on. I think these notes say more about the people that wrote them and probably less about me. I've edited out last names to protect privacy.

Thanks for all your invaluable work on so many projects
From: Tony in January 2023
Jon consistently produces high quality and high volume work. Without any disruption to the project schedule he was able to completely re-write the UI for ACS as well as much of the underlying architecture. This invaluable work caught the technology back up to date and keeps the system from experiencing many of the pitfalls of technical debt, including security vulnerabilities.
In addition to that work Jon was able to transition over to work on replacing the CMIS Pro-C code. Because of this work the CMIS team was able to actually return to work after the Zenith event. Jon learned a new product, a new business process and new technologies in order to do this. This work enabled the work of the Church to continue despite the older system being shut down.
Jon's ability to work on any project and his willingness to contribute in every way needed is amazing. He is a tremendous blessing to our portfolio and is a great teammate and leader.
Jon is a tremendous leader and example to our portfolio. Jon is willing and able to work on any project or assignment and always delivers his work on time. He takes great pride in being able to deliver according to his estimated timeline and he produces very high quality work. He is trusted and appreciated by our most demanding customer and works extremely well with either of our product managers. Jon is a great example to other developers and represents our best portfolio in the best light.
It is truly a privilege to work with Jon and we are blessed to have him in our portfolio.

Jon is a great engineer and he had a great year. Jon is performing at the highest level in his capacity as a software engineer and consistently meets all the heavy demands of that position. Jon works extremely hard on his projects and contributes across the entire team and organization,. Jon acts as an ambassador for our team to the customer and has developed a strong relationship of trust with them directly. He does this by delivering high-quality software and by being good at estimating the time and effort their requests will take. This consistency engenders trust and eliminats wasteful bureaucracy.

Thanks, Jon. You’re a stud. I know I’ve said it before, but I sincerely enjoy and appreciate working with you. You have a unique mix of skills that makes you an exceptional engineer as well as an outstanding project manager and customer relationship expert. You really make my job easier and bless the lives of the brethren.

I just want to say thank you jon, you are a very gifted developer and the church is blessed to have you along with matt, our great qa, Facilitating the technical side of the Lords work. There was an abundance of features, as noted in this release to help our customers in their work.. great job…
From: Chadwick on April 3, 2017
I want to add my sincere thanks and compliments to the kind words Brad offered. In addition to being gifted engineers, you are both exceptionally organized and you communicate well with our customers. These latter two gifts, in particular, make my life easier and allow our little team to get more done without my day to day involvement. Speaking of my involvement, I met with Deb and Phil today and we looked at the ABW and PLC event updates we just released. They are thrilled, thank you. Unfortunately, I should have been working more closely with you on these new packets. Last week, I worked with Elder Robbins to update the reports for these events. I got the changes to Rich, but not to you. I am sorry. Even Phil was unaware of these changes until I met with him this morning. I will be sending you updates to those reports. And we likely have one very minor wording change to make to the assignment letter. Sounds to me, like I owe you both lunch. :-) Thank you again for all that you do.

Jon has done a great job this year in responding to the various needs of the ACS and EPS customers. His refactoring of the letters portion of ACS will offer the users performance benefits for years to come. The solution he identified to assist in this work is now also being integrated into other solutions.
Jon sets a high bar for developer performance. His productivity is high, but more importantly, he is focused on simplicity and maintainability in his code. He watches for creeping technical debt and seeks opportunities to remove it wherever appropriate. He takes initiative to undertake modest refactoring on his own as part of his development, and seeks approval for more invasive refactoring that could affect project deliverables or costs in significant ways.
He is a valuable member of our portfolio and contributes greatly to our overall output and culture.

I appreciate your leadership and professionalism on this product. You guys make it happen. Thank you.
From: Clark in January 2015
Jon is a well-rounded package. He has great engineering skills and practice, but also communicates well with customers and builds good relationships with coworkers (as evidenced by his note about working with Matt). He is a key asset in our portfolio. I think it is unlikely that we could replace him with one person. We would probably have to significantly reduce our capacity and expectations for ACS and EPS or rearrange the team resources and have multiple engineers do the work together.
From: Clark on September 9, 2014
I just came out of a meeting in the CAB where Jared and I were making small talk with Carolyn. Thought you’d like to know that quite without prompting, or even conversation in that general direction, Carolyn brought up EPS and was singing your praises. She said that she is super pleased with what has happened already and that collectively you were able to decide to lop things off that didn’t make sense and weren’t helpful. She seemed genuinely grateful for the work that has gone into making EPS what it is and for all the help it is going to give her for conferences to come.
From: Brad on February 7, 2014
Jon,
I just want to say thank you for cleaning up eps (event progam scheduling) code and adding the new functionality. It has been a few years since anyone has taken a look at it, to streamline and bring it up to the kind of app it needs to be. You are the perfect guy assigned to do it, being very meticulous and code streamline conscious. Any thing you see in the code that we can move to triggers or default values in the database, please let me know and I will be happy to do it.
From: Phil on Jan 28, 2014
Huge kudos to Jon for speeding up Schedule Conferences and the date control enhancement.

After many years of service, and more than a few years of effort on our part to fill its shoes, the CSS reporting tool is finally able to retire and enjoy its golden years. I understand it will be moving to a virtual Florida, where there are many warm sandy beaches, beautiful digital sunset screensavers and bingo games on Thursday nights. Farewell, CSS. We wish you well and thank you for your faithful service…
We stand ready to assist with any unanticipated transitional pains that may arise, but given the careful route we took to approach this retirement, I'm hopeful those will be minimal.
Thank you all for your work and patience that helped us get to this day.
And a special thanks to Jon Worthington in getting the replacement application whipped into shape and building our customers trust in our technical team!

Jonathan indeed had a great year as he has summarized above. He has developed various web services in ACS to support GA Resource and worked on the Civil Marriage application.
Jonathan is all things ACS. He has great relationships with his customers and communicates with them frequently to gather requirements and to solve problems. He is very organized and keeps track of all requests and fixes in each release. He has put forth great effort to update legacy ACS code which has extended its life tremendously. Jonathan does all of this with the attitude and steadiness of a professional. He is a vital member of our team.

We have had to reduce the number of technical staff this year on our FMAT project. But because of Jon's efforts and him stepping up quickly we've been able to accomplish all of our work and more this year. The road would not have been as smooth this year if not for his efforts and technical knowledge. Jon is a very quick learner as it relates to both technical knowledge and business process. Jon recieve a lot of praise as it relates to the quality of code as well as the smoothness of our releases from both our QA and PM's. Jon has done a fantastic job of completing his projects on time, and I have recieved numerous emails from PFD thanking us for a job well done. Also Darrel our project manager has expressed his pleasure with the work that gets acccomplished due to Jon's efforts. In talking to our QA team, Jon has the best track record for quality of any of our developers, and doesn't send work on to QA until he has thoroughly tested himself.
From: Scott in March 2009
Jonathan has done a great job with estimating and completing his projects on time. I have recieved numerous emails from our PFD customers, thanking him for the great work he has done. He has completed all of his projects on time and within his estimates, and with very few issues found in QA. Our QA team wants to stress their thanks to Jonathan because his work is a pleasure to test, and rarely comes back with any issues. Due to Jonathan's effort we have been able to significantly lower our ticket count as compared to six months ago. Our customer is noticing the great work that he is doing! Although Jonathan is one of the newest members of our team, he has come up to speed very quickly. Our systems are very complicated and have in business logic, and he has done a wonderful job of taking ownership of his tasks.

Don and I (and Kaylene) have tested, reviewed and analyzed the two reports fairly extensively this afternoon from the UAT database. We have also tested the Payments button and noted the removal of the Commitments button from the WO screen.
We are very pleased to report that we found no problems of any kind. We consider them ready for release on the 15th.
We are especially pleased with the great effort on the Completion Timeliness Report to complete it so quickly! And also for the efforts on this (these) reports through the repeated modifications that were needed. The Project Progress Report is one of the two most important tools for all levels of management for R&I projects and these changes will make it much more useful and effective for this purpose across the world. And the elimination of the Payments and Commitment buttons will result in countless fewer calls to the help desk (and to we field reps) over the confusion caused by these two ill-conceived screens.
We will be requesting that the UAT colors be changed to match Production for a short period of time in the next few days in order to get screen prints for the notification of the changes to the field.
Thanks again.

Scott,
I just wanted to express my appreciation of Jon Worthington’s efforts and expertise and to your entire team.
I’ve had the opportunity (and need) to work with Jon on many occasions now and every time has been a positive experience. As you can see from the example below, Jon always goes the extra mile to provide clear, detailed responses. Particularly in the area of understanding sq ft issues in FMAT Jon has been invaluable. Much of the progress we’re making in PFD in working with DTA Areas to better understand cost targets and sq ft issues can be attributed to Jon’s timely assistance. Much of my success has been because of Jon’s help. And I really appreciate it.
Also, in the 2 or 3 opportunities I’ve had to work with Jon’s peer, Lance Wynn, I have had equally positive results. Though he’s newer to the team he’s always willing to jump in and answer my questions about FMAT functionality and problem ticket resolutions. They’ve been providing the same outstanding support I’ve always received from Tony, Scott, Shawn, Aaron, Ben, and others. In general I’ve always had a great experience working with the entire ICS FMAT team. Thanks!
From: Gary on August 20, 2008
Thanks for all the work that is being done to improve Reporting. With the new focus of Planners depending much more heavily on FMAT for their data we are experiencing a much higher expectation of data quality than in the past. The reports are also experiencing a much higher level of usage than in the past. This new data focus combined with O&M Simplification changes have made it challenging and we appreciate your efforts.

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I appreciate the work that Jon has been doing for me. We’ve recently been adding quite a bit to our web site, and he turns it around so quickly. The Board appreciated the almost live-link to the events of September and Jon was instrumental to that. Recently we updated the Board, the RAC and the Homeowners about the new features to their sites. Already yesterday I rec’d comments back from home owners that went on-line immediately to check them out. It’s easy to work with Jon and he almost makes the time difference disappear!

We are pleased to announce the release of a new Premier Resorts website that has been in development for some time. This weekend Jon Worthington activated the website on the Internet and it's available for public access. While you will see many enhancements and modifications you will also notice we retained much of the original design to maintain consistency between website versions. Enhancements include a new color scheme, modified navigation with updated menus, each property has a new home page and the WebPages have been enlarged to take advantage of the use of larger monitors used by our customers. You will also notice the expanded use of property photos throughout the site.
We are very exited about the new Website and hope everyone likes it. This is the result of many discussions and hard work with our properties, corporate marketing and a couple outside consulting groups. I would also like to express my thanks to Jon Worthington as he is the the architect behind the scenes that has converted the ideas into what you see on the Internet.
Please review the website content for your property and let us know anything that needs to be changed.
In addition to a new Website we have also installed a new high end Dell file server in the Utah offices to handle all of the Internet reservation booking through SMS World. You will notice a significant improvement in processing of online reservations. Thanks for this project go to Bill, Eric and Jon.
