Just a note for Manjaro users, remember to change the last line to:
sudo pacman -U insomnia-*-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
Add the .xz at the end of line.

sudo pacman -U insomnia - * - x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
Adicione o .xz no final da linha.

There is an AppImage version of the app that can be used directly as an executabe.
You can download from its official download page: https://github.com/Kong/insomnia/releases/tag/[email protected]

NOTE: AppImage versions don't need to be compiled as they can be run directly in any linux distros.
