Hey all,

What the fish are CTFs? Capture The Flags are computer security competitions in which:

Contestants are presented with a set of challenges which test their creativity, technical (and googling) skills, and problem-solving ability. Challenges usually cover a number of categories (see below), and when solved, each yields a string (called a flag) which is submitted to an online scoring service. (Source: PicoCTF FAQ.)

Anyway, CTFs are an awesome way to learn what 'hacking' is really about and they're super fun as well! Two of the most popular CTFs geared specifically towards high schoolers are PicoCTF and HSCTF (the latter of which will run in about 2 weeks).

What specifically will we do this Wednesday? Your beloved co-president Amy and I will introduce the categories of problems and we'll go over a few of them together. Come to learn about hacking! Stay to actually do some hacking!
