Key Findings

  • p5 project was optimized for diversity from the beginning

  • simpler solutions were choses over more performant ones

  • all their documentation is inline make it easily to transition from documentation to code contributions

  • they organized a contributors conference which may be a good alternative to a hackathon or normal conference

Action Points

  • research the format of a contributors conference

  • consider to move our documentation inline

  • further explore how to make a project diversity and beginner friendly

  • all architectural decisions should be optimized for accessibility, in other words: we should use the easiest, not necessarily the best, option available
