- Open the PortingKit.dmg file when it finishes downloading
- Drag the Porting Kit.app file onto the Applications folder in the window that opens
- Wait until the file is fully copied, close the menu that opened, and you can delete the PortingKit.dmg file
- Open Finder, click "Applications" in the left sidebar, and look for the Porting Kit item
- Click "Open" (you only need to do this the first time)
- Click through the installation process (yes, agree, continue, continue, etc.)
- Copy and paste this into your browser address bar, then press enter:

- Click continue, yes, next, install, etc. to get through the prompts
- After the install is completed, click the play icon next to "Age of Empires 2 HD" in the left sidebar.

- Once signed in, go to your Steam Library tab and go to Age of Empires II in the left sidebar.

- Once the game is finished downloading and installing on Steam, click "Play" to launch the game.
- You will see a launcher pop up with 3 wooden boards with no text on the left - click the first one to launch the game.
- In the future, you just open Porting Kit to start the game.

- When starting a multiplayer game, the loading screen may get stuck - you will hear the game music but still see the loading screen. If this happens, CMD-Tab to move the window to the background, then click to open the window back up.
- While signed in on Steam, go to the following URLs and click "Subscribe"

- Right click the game in Steam and select "Properties"
- Go to the "Local Files" tab and click "Verify integrity of game files"

I get to this stage too and no dice. I don't get a pop up either when I right-click properties in the mini-steam, and I tried launching the game with no success, I get the error:
