Fix IP6 Apt Issue Ubuntu Fedora
I solved this on 12.10 by editing /etc/gai.conf and uncommenting the line:

# For sites which prefer IPv4 connections change the last line to
#
precedence ::ffff:0:0/96 100
# Problems in Fedora
touch /etc/modprobe.d/disableipv6.conf
echo "install ipv6 /bin/true" >> /etc/modprobe.d/disableipv6.conf
vi /etc/sysconfig/network
NETWORKING_IPV6=no
IPV6INIT=no
reboot
lsmod | grep ipv6
