Summary of 'Clean code' by Robert C. Martin

Code is clean if it can be understood easily – by everyone on the team. Clean code can be read and enhanced by a developer other than its original author. With understandability comes readability, changeability, extensibility and maintainability.

General rules

  1. Follow standard conventions.
  2. Keep it simple stupid. Simpler is always better. Reduce complexity as much as possible.
  3. Boy scout rule. Leave the campground cleaner than you found it.
  4. Always find root cause. Always look for the root cause of a problem.

Cache a python package from PyPI on S3
#!/usr/bin/env python
# -*- coding: utf-8 -*-
"""pycache -- cache a python package from PyPI on S3.
A simple script to collect a cache of packages locally and sync them up to an S3 bucket, using directories as namespaces so that different projects can have different dependencies.
This is just about the simplest thing that could possibly work.

Websocket support in strophe.js
/** Class: Strophe.WebSocket
* XMPP Connection manager.

* Thie class is the main part of Strophe. It manages a BOSH connection

* After creating a Strophe.Connection object, the user will typically
