Note that Office2019 DO NOT support activate via simple copy/paste plist license file which is the simplest way to activate Office 2016. Fortunately, you can also use the VL Serializer tool, just install Office 2019 and Serializer, then run Serializer to activate.

Activation Step

1. DO NOT RUN OFFICE APP AFTER INSTALLED, but just install Office 2019 for macOS, choose one of this

   • manual download ref: https://macadmins.software/
   • Official Link - Microsoft_Office_16.27.19071500_Installer.pkg
   • Official Link - Office 2019 Volume License 16.x latest

   or install via brew:

   brew cask install microsoft-office

2. manual download and install Microsoft_Office_2019_VL_Serializer.pkg

   • Microsoft_Office_2019_VL_Serializer.pkg in this gist (have tested to work with v16.27, but not work with >= v16.80)
   • Microsoft_Office_2019_VL_Serializer.pkg official link

3. run Microsoft_Office_2019_VL_Serializer and it will automatic activate Office 2019

4. open the office app, completed.

First time using this site and commenting. Not sure exactly what I did as I lost track downloading the different version along with serializer. But I ran serializer first before opening up office And to my surprised it works. I just hope this is not a trial version.

Thanks for creating this page and information, got me out of a jam as I am trying use my old mac for work related projects. Greatly appreciated.

Quick note I am here after a failed download of 2016 office that I purchased license key from a 3rd party website. Microsoft couldn't help me so here I am at this site after doing several searches via web. Not familar with GIthub nor tech savvy but most folks I know that are heavy into tech often refer this website.

Note: For the people trying this in 2024 download the 16.27.0 version manually or from the below “Link to download”. Do not download the above originally mentioned Official Link - Office 2019 Volume License 16.27.0 because it wont work . Then, download the serializer and install. After installing serializer you are able to use MSoffice 2019 without any sign in and activation. it worked for powerpoint, excel etc but NOT for Word! And that's the app I need the most. is there any fix for it???

this still works for me on Mac , just make sure you have Office version 16.27.19071500 steps :

1. Download Office & Serializer from the below link
2. Run Microsoft removal tool first then
3. clean your Mac, delete all the Microsoft apps , and clean anything related to Microsoft that exist in the Library/Group Containers
4. Then install office
5. Run Serializer
6. create/overwrite the file com.microsoft.office.licensingV2.plist  in /Library/Preferences
7. Copy everything from com.microsoft.office.licensingV2.plist
8. IMP: first time when you will open Outlook it will ask for update permission -> deny auto update
9. deny automatic data usage sharing with Microsoft , you can make it force quit from Activity terminal
