Install Canon EOS Utility 2 full version

How to install Canon EOS Utility 2 full version

EOS Utility 2.14.20a full version install

Go to Canon and select your camera model under software downloads. At the time this guide was written, the link was https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/software/eos-utility.html

Select your camera and download "EOS Utility 2.14.20a Updater for Windows" (yes, we will do full install with this file).

Before we can run the installer we need to add a key to our registry.

Open a commandprompt as admin and run this to create the right key for a full install.

REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Canon\EOS Utility"

Now you can run "EOS Utility 2.14.20a Updater for Windows" to make a full installation.

Works great! I'm running Windows 11, and it only showed v3. After selecting Windows 10, I was able to find the v2 download, run the reg command and install EOS Utility v2 for my Canon EOS 70D.

Same here worked for Canon 7D, I could only find the updater, not the full installer and this converted one into the other, great!

You saved the day! Thanks for this little trick. Thank you for counteracting the frustration I was feeling from dealing with Canon's odd decision to not provide a full install.

Thanks dude, I downloaded EOS utility previously by using a serial number with only zeroes, but now they only have an updater. You're a lifesaver!

Hi! I've got a Rebel T4i , Canon support says I need to use EOS2, but it's not supported for W11. I tried your solution, updated the REG, got and ran the EOS2 updater, but the installer died with "Unknown Error" at the Web Service Registration. The EOS Utility only starts up as a tiny popup, but doesn't let me get to my camera controls. (I'm using the USB-mini-5 connector for the T4i). So, no bueno. Any suggestions?
OK, I jiggled the cable, and then suddenly it opened EOS Utility. But then it pooped out saying it doesn't recognize my camera.

Sorry man, I've been trying to make this work for two hours but I'm not doing very well, I think I've lost my patience, could you help me please?

To get it to work on my win11 system,
uninstall the EOS app ( if installed) and reboot.
Using regedit I entered the new key BY HAND,
{ if you have never used regedit there are "youtubes" on it.}
If you can edit a text file. you can change the registry. worst case is EOS does not work but you are there anyway.
I then ran the update and , yeah, it worked.

Doing it by hand should overcome any PATH issues.

Sorry for being so abrupt,
