Go to Canon and select your camera model under software downloads. At the time this guide was written, the link was https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/software/eos-utility.html
Select your camera and download "EOS Utility 2.14.20a Updater for Windows" (yes, we will do full install with this file).
Before we can run the installer we need to add a key to our registry.
Open a commandprompt as admin and run this to create the right key for a full install.
REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Canon\EOS Utility"
Now you can run "EOS Utility 2.14.20a Updater for Windows" to make a full installation.
Hi! I've got a Rebel T4i , Canon support says I need to use EOS2, but it's not supported for W11. I tried your solution, updated the REG, got and ran the EOS2 updater, but the installer died with "Unknown Error" at the Web Service Registration. The EOS Utility only starts up as a tiny popup, but doesn't let me get to my camera controls. (I'm using the USB-mini-5 connector for the T4i). So, no bueno. Any suggestions?
OK, I jiggled the cable, and then suddenly it opened EOS Utility. But then it pooped out saying it doesn't recognize my camera.
