The unknown-prop warning will fire if you attempt to render a DOM element with a prop that is not recognized by React as a legal DOM attribute/property. You should ensure that your DOM elements do not have spurious props floating around.

There are a couple of likely reasons this warning could be appearing:

  1. Are you using {...this.props} or cloneElement(element, this.props)? Your component is transferring its own props directly to a child element (eg. https://facebook.github.io/react/docs/transferring-props.html). When transferring props to a child component, you should ensure that you are not accidentally forwarding props that were intended to be interpreted by the parent component.

  2. You are using a non-standard DOM attribute on a native DOM node, perhaps to represent custom data. If you are trying to attach custom data to a standard DOM element, consider using a custom data attribute (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Guide/HTML/Using_data_attributes).

VSCode GitHub Markdown Theme

GitHub Markdown Theme for Visual Studio Code

This CSS stylesheet allows you to preview markdown files in VSCode using GitHub's mardown theme. This CSS was taken directly from the official GitHub Markdown repo. I replaced their top-level .markdown-body class with the body tag so it would work in VSCode, and added styling for the html tag to match GitHub's fixed-width container.

Instructions

  1. Copy the CSS file to your computer
Copy the github-markdown.css file below to your computer. You can put it anywhere you want, but I chose to put it in the same folder as my VSCode settings file.

  2. Edit your VSCode settings
If you want to use this theme for all of your projects, then edit your User Settings file. If you just want to use this them

What forces layout/reflow. The comprehensive list.

What forces layout / reflow

All of the below properties or methods, when requested/called in JavaScript, will trigger the browser to synchronously calculate the style and layout*. This is also called reflow or layout thrashing, and is common performance bottleneck.

Generally, all APIs that synchronously provide layout metrics will trigger forced reflow / layout. Read on for additional cases and details.

Most VPN Services are Terrible

Short version: I strongly do not recommend using any of these providers. You are, of course, free to use whatever you like. My TL;DR advice: Roll your own and use Algo or Streisand. For messaging & voice, use Signal. For increased anonymity, use Tor for desktop (though recognize that doing so may actually put you at greater risk), and Onion Browser for mobile.

JSX Spread Attributes

JSX Spread Attributes

If you know all the properties that you want to place on a component a head of time, it is easy to use JSX:

  var component = <Component foo={x} bar={y} />;
