#Agenda

Here is our tentative agenda for tonight's board meeting at The 404 at 4:00 pm - 7:00pm. If you're unable to attend at 4 (due to my miscommunication earlier) we'll recap the meeting for you when you arrive/join online.

As software creators, we work hard at our craft. Every day we use the latest techniques to ensure we are always delivering the highest quality code and managing our time and processes efficiently. Continuous Integration, Issue trackers, Kanban Boards, Cloud services, Version Control and Automation are regular tools of the trade. Why can't we use these tools to also effectively build our Developer Communities?
In this talk, I will highlight some of the ways Techlahoma has brought together technologies from various languages and disciplines to manage and foster community growth in central Oklahoma. Everything you need to build your community is at your fingertips.

my recommend of js books for newer devs

Howdy folks,

JavaScript is a great language to learn if you're interested in programming in web technologies, making robots, or creating art with code. The language is still booming with lots of new frameworks, improved language features, and a great community.

If you're ready to get started, here are a few books I recommend. Please add to the list if you've got some favorites too.

Info about what lightning talks are, common topic themes, and why it helps our community so much.
Lightning Talks are a really fun event we put on every 3 months.
Community members have 5 or 10 minutes to talk about JavaScript.
We give preference to new speakers to strengthen our community.
Common topics include: ways you've solved problems, libraries,
what you're working on, or anything relating to JS.
To participate: post your topic and presentation length.
//my code that doesn’t work
//(& it fails with or without semicolons)
var express = require('express');
var app = express();
app.get(‘/home’, function(req, res) {
res.end(‘Hello World!’);
});
app.listen(process.argv[2])
