Another gist exist with the same purpose. It did not work for me. Since the maintainer didn't seem to respond to other comments, I made my own.
I've found the solution in a comment under a youtube video. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8DoVVMEx2k pinned comment)
- Java (openJDK17+)
- 7zip gui for windows
- peazip for mac or linux
- Download optifine for your minecraft version from optifine.net
- Open the file and click extract
- Extract it to a location where it is easyily accesible
- Open it with peazip or 7zip gui depending on your os
It should look similar to this
- Now extract the notch folder
- If you're using peazip go to
options -> settings -> archive manager ->
and enableEdit non-canonical archive types
- Drag and drop the contents of the extracted notch folder into the parent directory (the directory in which notch was contained), leaving you with and archive that should look something like this:
- Save the file and exit
- Go to UltimMC
- Create a new instance (or choose one laready created) in which you want to install optifine
- Click on
Edit Instance
and go toversion
- Click on
Add to Minecraft.jar
- Select the modified jar file
- It should be enabled by default, else enable it
- Click on Launch and enjoy
Good one, in works!
