- Generally, i really like it! Totally my kind of game :)
- Like the visual style! Clouds <3
- I'm going to ignore a lot of the visual + feedback stuff that's missing because i'm sure you're aware. Little animations like "you need this resource" should be there, or stronger, but i'm guessing you haven't got there yet.
- That said... I feel like the characters crossing between continents feels weird. Even if it's just a boat that they use, it'd be so much better than them walking in an ocean. It's a weird thing to pick up on, but it was one of the first things i felt was really off.
- The Ship feels a bit useless. I know it's a store, but it'd be kewler if you could maybe choose where to land? At least it felt like it was occupying my nice housing space
- I got invaded, hadn't even finished a furnace. That basically fucked up my game - i had 1 dudette and some kids left. Not sure what triggers you're using for the first invasion, but i'd have it based on when the player hits a certain tech level. This could also allow the player to play as they prefer... like if i don't want to fight and just do a tech civ, then i could maybe avoid it for very long and focus on schools and stuff first. Fighting always feels like it should be a mid/late game thing in civ games. At least that was Anno for me :)
- I like the mechanic that you have to keep mines and furnaces away from residential! It's not traditional (normally you'd need a resource patch which the game places for you), but this is great! It allows me, as an OCD game of this type, to layout my city exactly how i want!
- Related, I want terrain mod tools! It can be fucking expensive, but i think it's totally worth adding. Then i can really go over the top and build my ultimate island.
- I think the assigning of people to buildings needs a more obvious setup. I'd even go as far as to have it default allocate peabs that are available.
- UI button for speed levels in main UI. There are a ton of games that do this so you should easily be able to borrow :)
- Doing well doesn't seem to accelerate my ability to do better? For example, when i'm getting the right tech, my settlement doesn't seem to grow quicker? Maybe it's because i only had 1 adult and 5 kids, but even then, i was doing the right things and it took reallllllly long for the kids to become adults. The moment one did tho... no time wasted to make another kiddo!
- Construction sites don't tell you what you built there... i forgot and then it took ages, so i didn't have a clue what was gonna pop up.
- Without the tech tree unlocking based on what you've built, things like the coal generator feel useless. I mean, sure you need it, and the game maybe adds it's value to something internally, but if it was required to unlock other buildings, i feel like that makes it more important.
- Pressing Esc gave the pause/quit menu, but i couldn't see it in the UI?
