# Description: In my web root directory I wanted create a folder called photos, and another called
# music using a sftp program. Without manually going back to the config file or to the shell I like to
# be able to access them at photos.nginxdomain.com and music.nginxdomain.com. That is what this config does.
# Redirect visitors from http://nginxdomain.com/ to http://www.nginxdomain.com/

HowTo have specific .gitignore for each git branch

How to have specific .gitignore for each git branch

Objective

My objective is to have some production files ignored on specific branches. Git doesn't allow to do it.

Solution

My solution is to make a general .gitignore file and add .gitignore.branch_name files for the branches I want to add specific file exclusion. I'll use post-checkout hook to copy those .gitignore.branch_name in place of .git/info/exclude each time I go to the branch with git checkout branch_name.

Midnight Commander Cheat Sheet / Shortcuts
Note for newcomers:
In the shortcuts below, "C" stands for CTRL and "A" stands for "ALT". This is a convention
used in the Midnight Commander documentation and was kept here.
You can also use "ESC" instead of "ALT", which is useful on Macbooks.

Installing rbenv in a fish environment

Here we use Homebrew to install rbenv:

  1. brew update; and brew install rbenv ruby-build
  2. Add ~/.rbenv/shims to your PATH
  3. Include the contents of completions/rbenv.fish in your Fish config.
  4. Run rbenv install 2.2.2 and rbenv rehash
  5. Run rbenv global 2.2.2

Now you can run gem install bundler and bundle install within your Ruby project.

Disable App Transport Security in iOS 9
<!--
This disables app transport security and allows non-HTTPS requests.
Note: it is not recommended to use non-HTTPS requests for sensitive data. A better
approach is to fix the non-secure resources. However, this patch will work in a pinch.
To apply the fix in your Ionic/Cordova app, edit the file located here:
platforms/ios/MyApp/MyApp-Info.plist
And add this XML right before the end of the file inside of the last </dict> entry:
