Install with Homebrew:

$ brew install postgresql@14

(The version number 14 needs to be explicitly stated. The @ mark designates a version number is specified. If you need an older version of postgres, use postgresql@13, for example.)

Activate wsl2

dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux /all /norestart
dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /all /norestart
wsl --set-default-version 2

Install and Configure Ubuntu

kubectl multi-version brews

Applicability

The instructions below apply to older versions of Homebrew which still provide switch capability.

For current Homebrew, you'll likely need to keep Versions around, and build locally. Here's my versions repository https://github.com/rdump/homebrew-versions

MacPorts is now keeping versioned installations available as well, by default.

/ ...I can't. I hate this format

...so I was looking up how to do simple, secure authentication in Rails for my super secret project which you definitely can't find by looking at recent activity on my [GitHub account] (Hail [Mammon][[0][zero]]) and realized that I hadn't implemented authentication in Rails in a long time. The closest I'd come to was throwing [Devise] into my app and grumpily remembering to configure the mailer after the fact.

This will seem unrelated, but bear with me: I learned how to calculate interest rates on loans in something like 6th grade. I have since forgotten how to do that without assistance. Much like how I would have been much better prepared to choose a mortgage back then, I would in some ways be much better prepared to figure out authentication a few years ago when I was just starting out in web dev - and had just implemented it from the [Hartl tutorial]. That said, just like how I now know more of what I'm looking for

Installing Postgres via Brew

Pre-Reqs

Brew Package Manager

In your command-line run the following commands:

brew doctor
brew update

Setup Rails and Vuejs

Generate new rails app using --webpack flag

rails new myApp --webpack=vue

Note:

You can use --webpack=angular for angular application and --webpack=react for react.

	1. Find your good commit id : git log
	2. git rebase --exec 'git commit --amend --no-edit -n -S' -i <your latest good commit id>
	3. just save and quit when prompted
	4. git push origin <branch name> --force
