Calculate sunrise/sunset times from latitude/longitude coordinates using Javascript.
/**
* Calculates today's sunrise and sunset hours in local time (or in the given tz) for the given latitude, longitude.
* The tz parameter is mainly for the possible circumstance that your system timezone does not match the location
* you are currently at.
*
* Computations are based on the formulas found in:
* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_day#Converting_Julian_or_Gregorian_calendar_date_to_Julian_Day_Number
* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunrise_equation#Complete_calculation_on_Earth

GLSL Noise Algorithms

Please consider using http://lygia.xyz instead of copy/pasting this functions. It expand suport for voronoi, voronoise, fbm, noise, worley, noise, derivatives and much more, through simple file dependencies. Take a look to https://github.com/patriciogonzalezvivo/lygia/tree/main/generative

Generic 1,2,3 Noise

float rand(float n){return fract(sin(n) * 43758.5453123);}

float noise(float p){
	float fl = floor(p);
  float fc = fract(p);

How to proxy web apps using nginx?

Virtual Hosts on nginx (CSC309)

When hosting our web applications, we often have one public IP address (i.e., an IP address visible to the outside world) using which we want to host multiple web apps. For example, one may wants to host three different web apps respectively for example1.com, example2.com, and example1.com/images on the same machine using a single IP address.

How can we do that? Well, the good news is Internet browsers

Interactive world globe

Zoomable/rotatable world globe that uses orthographic projection. Drag behavior is enhanced as described here: https://www.jasondavies.com/maps/rotate/

Performance is not good due to redrawing whole world upon zoom/drag.

Node.js TCP client and server example
/*
In the node.js intro tutorial (http://nodejs.org/), they show a basic tcp
server, but for some reason omit a client connecting to it. I added an
example at the bottom.
Save the following server in example.js:

var net = require('net');

Color Temperature to RGB
// From http://www.tannerhelland.com/4435/convert-temperature-rgb-algorithm-code/
// Start with a temperature, in Kelvin, somewhere between 1000 and 40000. (Other values may work,
// but I can't make any promises about the quality of the algorithm's estimates above 40000 K.)
function colorTemperatureToRGB(kelvin){
var temp = kelvin / 100;
