http://socialdriver.com/2012/07/20-best-responsive-websites/ lists 20 sites that are supposedly best-in-class when it comes to responsive design techniques. I had a look at the viewport meta tags used in these sites.
width=device-width
, with in most cases an additional initial-scale=1
. This is good practice.However:
maximum-scale
to 1, or using user-scalable=no
. While there are some corner use cases for this, it does not make sense to do this on text-heavy sites as it impairs accessibility.if (Meteor.is_client) {

In this document I am using Sass's SCSS syntax. You can choose to use the indented syntax in sass, if you prefer it, it has no functional differences from the SCSS syntax.
For Less, I'm using the JavaScript version because this is what they suggest on the website. The ruby version may be different.
function calculate_median($arr) {
$count = count($arr); //total numbers in array
$middleval = floor(($count-1)/2); // find the middle value, or the lowest middle value
if($count % 2) { // odd number, middle is the median
$median = $arr[$middleval];
} else { // even number, calculate avg of 2 medians
$low = $arr[$middleval];
$high = $arr[$middleval+1];
$median = (($low+$high)/2);
} |
