Write 1-2 paragraphs about your StrengthsFinder themes: How have you seen yourself using these strengths at Turing? Has your understanding of these strengths changed since you first reflected on them? If so, how?
- I found that my strengths finders themes were fairly accurate. My top strengths were learning, analytical thinking, and leadership. I had not really thought of myself as a leader before, but after thinking about it, that is definitley true as long as I am comfortable with the people around me and the information being taught to me. I definitley have tried to use those leadership skills more since I became aware of them.
Write a story about your Turing experience so far: When have you struggled? How have you dealt with struggle? When have you succeeded at Turing? How did you accomplish those successes?
- One of the hardest things for me so far at turing has been dealing with my ADHD. I have had problems with it in the past, but at Turing, there truly is no room for procrastination/forgetting about an assignment. I have struggled to stay organized as well. After beginning mod 1 again though, I have begun to structure my life around Turing more than anything else, and that has helped me tremendously.
After you practice storytelling in the session, answer this question: What was particularly easy or difficult about telling your story? What are 1-2 steps that you can take to continue to improve your abilities to tell your story, talk about yourself with ease, and examine your strengths?
- It is difficult to be vulnerable when telling your story, but at the same time, that is really the only way to tell an inspiring and helpful story. I would say that two steps I could take to become better at storytelling would be being more confident in myself, and having more of a perspective on where I'm coming from.
