Pure ESM package

Pure ESM package

The package that linked you here is now pure ESM. It cannot be require()'d from CommonJS.

This means you have the following choices:

  1. Use ESM yourself. (preferred)
    Use import foo from 'foo' instead of const foo = require('foo') to import the package. You also need to put "type": "module" in your package.json and more. Follow the below guide.
  2. If the package is used in an async context, you could use await import(…) from CommonJS instead of require(…).
  3. Stay on the existing version of the package until you can move to ESM.

Running Rancher locally (with two hosts) using MacOS Docker and VirtualBox

Rancher

Rancher is an open source project that provides a complete platform for operating Docker in production. It provides infrastructure services such as multi-host networking, global and local load balancing, and volume snapshots.

This documentation describes how to run Rancher localy for development and evaluation propuses.

I'm using Docker for OSX (native) but even for this to work you will need to install VirtualBox.

Pragmatic Touch Icons

NOTE I'm trying to find the most optimal fav/touch icon setup for my use-cases. Nothing new here. Read Mathias Bynens' articles on re-shortcut-icon and touch icons, a FAQ or a Cheat Sheet for all the details.

I'd like to hear how you approach this: @valuedstandards or comment on this gist.

The issue

You have to include a boatload of link elements pointing to many different images to provide (mobile) devices with a 'favicon' or 'touch icon':

Webkit Pseudo-Element Selectors (Shadow DOM Elements)

An ongoing project to catalogue all of these sneaky, hidden, bleeding edge selectors as I prepare my JSConf EU 2012 talk.

Everything is broken up by tag, but within each the selectors aren't particularly ordered.

I have not tested/verified all of these. Have I missed some or got it wrong? Let me know. - A

A friendly reminder that you may need to set this property on your target/selected element to get the styling results you want:

-webkit-appearance:none;

Checkout github pull requests locally

Locate the section for your github remote in the .git/config file. It looks like this:

[remote "origin"]
	fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/*
	url = [email protected]:joyent/node.git

Now add the line fetch = +refs/pull/*/head:refs/remotes/origin/pr/* to this section. Obviously, change the github url to match your project's URL. It ends up looking like this:
