I would avoid gigabyte's aorus lineup. Story time... (this is a personal story, I'm sure not every customer had their stuff break like this)...
I had a X3 13" QHD laptop at that point.
RMA 1:
Problem:
My screen started started to separate about a year in to owning the laptop
Solution: RMA it... I got it back within about 5 days or so, with a new QHD+ screen (higher res and bigger than when I sent it in!) I was pretty happy at this point...
RMA 2: Problem: About a week latter games would crash, artifacts would show up on screen, graphics drivers would die and uninstall themselves...
Solution: RMA it... This time it took easily a month probably more during which they replaced the motherboard / GPU or whatever... I was left without a laptop for far longer than was polite...
RMA 3: Problem: Opening any graphics intensive game (TF2, GTA, anything) would cause the laptop to just shut off instantly if it was not plugged in, even when the battery was charged to 70%.
Solution: RMA it... This time I had to fight them to even look at it as over the phone they just called it a battery issue and told me I would have to pay for that... I told them that could be true as the battery seemed to be expanding (turned out that was a broken clip they never replaced)... Once I uttered those magic words they offered to fix my battery right away... Not even bothering to note that my issue wasn't actually with the battery... Anyway I sent it in, and they sent it back as broken as... before I sent it in...
RMA 4: Problem: Welp... yea it was still broken, see RMA 3...
Solution: Up until now I had been talking to their Canadian contractors... This time I reached out to the big man themselves... GIGABYTE in the US... many shipping charges latter and they had my laptop in their hands... They proceeded to complain about being unable to replicate the issue for 2 weeks or so, I finally called in and got somehow transferred to the person in charge of repairing my laptop (pretty sure this was sheer luck)... Anyway, they told me they had been able to replicate the issue, they decided just for fun to have a different department try and swap out the battery... at which point instead of testing their work they just mailed it back to me... Still broken but this time it even had a scratch on the screen!
RMA 5: Problem: Yup, still broken, now scratched... I talked to them about the scratch on the phone and I was told in no uncertain terms that their techs are professional and pretty much incapable of scratching a screen, at least not without logging the damage...
Solution: I sent it back... again... this time after... a lot more waiting, and them paying the shipping... I finally got back the laptop, and it's been working even since.
Summary:
All in all I had to re-install the OS on my laptop 7 times during this process (destroying raid array before sending it in)... Was without my laptop for many many months, and ended up getting a different laptop from work to use during the time, which I still use to this day...
Conclusion: Gigabyte / Aorus things work well... till they don't... at that point good luck getting them fixed
