Installing Arch Linux
Notice: I might make a big revision someday to review everything, fix anything that needs fixing, and explain the reason for each step. Maybe.

Installing Arch Linux

Small notes before we start:

  • Arch Linux now comes with an installer, so if you just want a minimal system ready in a few minutes, you're better off just doing archinstall.
  • This guide is for UEFI only, not BIOS.
  • The only officially supported architecture by Arch Linux is x86_64, so make sure your computer uses that architecture before attempting to install it.
  • Some computers won't work out of the box because of bugs left by the manufacturers.

Import mitm certificate to CA in arch linux
  1. After installing mitmproxy run it (just type mitmproxy) in a terminal session and quit. This will create the necessaries certificates files at ~/.mitmproxy.

  2. Extract the certificate to .crt format:
    openssl x509 -in ~/.mitmproxy/mitmproxy-ca.pem -inform PEM -out ca.crt

  3. Trust the certificate into CA:
    sudo trust anchor ca.crt

  4. Run the mitmproxy again

Manage and deploy a website with Git. I am using Lunux CentOS for my server.
Video on this Gist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvpLDuRY4ss&feature=c4-overview&list=UUj8_147vA3FQ1quI_CjciIQ
#Initialize a bare repo on the webserver. This would preferably be outside of your public website dir but if you are on a shared host you may not have that option. I like to make a folder just outside of the live folder called git. So for me it would look like this…
$ cd /var/www
$ mkdir git && cd git
$ git init –-bare
#Now you need to create a post-receive hook that will check out the latest tree from the Git repo you just setup into the /var/www/html folder where you want your website to be. You can make this whatever folder you want your code to end up in.
#This will create a file called post-receive in the hooks dir of the git repo.
