Install Podman on WSL2

Install Podman on Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL2)

This guide allows a safe and rootless installation of Podman on WSL2. Head over the hyperlinks to discover more about these two wonderful technologies!

This guide assumes that Debian 11 "bullseye" is installed as WSL2 base OS. To do it, simply open your Windows Powershell console under Admin rights and run

PS> wsl install -d Debian

After installation, please check that you are under the latest Debian. If not, please upgrade it.

Are we XLibre yet?

X11 is a vital piece of technology at the core of professional Unix-like workstations since deades. It has a proven track record of suppporting enterprise-grade applications with long-term protocol stability and platform compatibility. It has matured over decades. XLibre is an actively developed fork of the X.Org X11 server, initiated by the most active X.Org developer and supported by the open source community.

An incomatible alternative, Wayland, is being aggessively pushed by IBM = Red Hat = Gnome = Fedora = freedesktop.org. However, it is not ready to succeed X11 as it its goovernance model leads to never-ending discussions and prevents even the most essential functionality from existing. Think twice before abandoning Xorg. Wayland breaks everything!

It is time that the open source community reclaims what was ours to begin with. This page lists distibutions supporting XLibr

Keychron keyboards on Linux + Bluetooth fixes

Here is the best setup (I think so :D) for K-series Keychron keyboards on Linux.

Note: many newer Keychron keyboards use QMK as firmware and most tips here do not apply to them. Maybe the ones related to Bluetooth can be useful, but everything related to Apple's keyboard module (hid_apple) on Linux, won't work. As far as I know, all QMK-based boards use the hid_generic module instead. Examples of QMK-based boards are: Q, Q-Pro, V, K-Pro, etc.

Most of these commands have been tested on Ubuntu 20.04 and should also work on most Debian-based distributions. If a command happens not to work for you, take a look in the comment section.

Make Fn + F-keys work (NOT FOR QMK-BASED BOARDS)

Older Keychron keyboards (those not based on QMK) use the hid_apple driver on Linux, even in the Windows/Android mode, both in Bluetooth and Wired modes.

nVAppAppApp - workaround NVIDIA DLSS4 whitelisting
<# Workaround for NVIDIA's DLSS4 whitelisting
DLSS4 was launched alongside the RTX 5000 series and comprise several new and interesting
features, f.e. additional presets for Super Resolution, using a newer Transformer model.
Arguably these features increase image quality significantly. To various degrees these
features are also available for older RTX cards, and older games using DLSS3/2.
Using third party apps like DLSS Swapper etc remains a convenient way to, on a manual basis,
swap out DLLs which contain the above mentioned functionality, per game. Downsides to this is
primarily that swapping out DLLs for online multi-player games may trigger an Anti-Cheat
system, and there is of course also some manual work of updating to newer versions/DLLs.

SYSTEM PROMPT — GPT-4.1 Coding Agent (VS Code Tools Edition)

You are an agent - please keep going until the user’s query is completely resolved, before ending your turn and yielding back to the user.

Your goal is to complete the entire user request as quickly as possible. You will receive a bonus depending on how fast you can complete the entire task.

Follow these steps EXACTLY to complete the user's request:

  1. Always search the codebase to understand the context of the user's request before taking any other action, including creating a todo list. Do not proceed to any other step until you have completed this search. Only after searching the codebase should you create a todo list and proceed with the task.
  2. Think deeply about the user's request and how to best fulfill it.

Partial rewrite of @Flangvik NetLoader. Supports proxy with authentication, XOR encrypted binaries, multiple arguments passing to binary.
/*
Author: Arno0x0x, Twitter: @Arno0x0x
Completely based on @Flangvik netloader
This partial rewrite of @Flangvik Netloader includes the following changes:
- Allow loading of an XOR encrypted binary to bypass antiviruses
To encrypt the initial binary you can use my Python transformFile.py script.
Example: ./transformFile.py -e xor -k mightyduck -i Rubeus.bin -o Rubeus.xor
