This is a brief guide on how to set up Metamask and obtain Rinkeby testnet ETH from the faucet.

Setup Metamask

Install the Chrome browser
Install the Metamask browser extension

Open Metamask and setup your account

Make sure to write down the 12 word backup phrase.
Switch to to the Rinkeby testnet

Get Rinkeby testnet ETH

Copy your account address

Open https://faucet.rinkeby.io/ in your Chrome browser
Post your account address on Twitter, Google+ or Facebook
Copy the URL to your post
Paste it into the input field on https://faucet.rinkeby.io/
Hit "Give me Ether"

Now wait a check your balance in Metamask. Your Rinkeby ETH are its way 💸

Seems that this faucet is indeed down. Not sure what the issue is. There's another one recently launched by MyCrypto that you could give a try: https://support.mycrypto.com/how-to/getting-started/where-to-get-testnet-ether

ребята кран работает отлично, смотрите: в самом посте сообщения которое они сами заполняют автоматически есть нулевой (genezis) адресс. вот именно вместо него вставляете адресс своего кошелька и все постите,далее копируете ссылку на временную метку самого поста( твита) и вставляете в поле на сайте крани ==== радуемся халяве которая ничаго не стоит, но зато халява, ВСЕМ УДАЧИ
