# What people think of as "white noise" may actually be pink noise or brown | |
# noise or any number of other colors. Sound is associated with a color based | |
# on where it falls on an audio spectrum of high to low frequencies. White noise | |

This is excellent, thanks! One quick note, on my Mac (osx 10.11), decimal values between 0 and 1 decrease the volume while negative values don't affect the volume, so it might be worth updating the command line help statement:
"less than 0 decreases the volume, more than 0 increases it. Be careful: increasing this may cause clipping."
to something along the lines of
"values 0 < x < 1 decrease the volume, greater than 1 increases it. Be careful: increasing this may cause clipping."
