Laravel 5 Simple ACL - Protect routes by an account / role type

#Laravel 5 Simple ACL manager

Protect your routes with user roles. Simply add a 'role_id' to the User model, install the roles table and seed if you need some example roles to get going.

If the user has a 'Root' role, then they can perform any actions.

Installation

Simply copy the files across into the appropriate directories, and register the middleware in App\Http\Kernel.php

NGINX tuning for best performance

NGINX Tuning For Best Performance

For this configuration you can use web server you like, i decided, because i work mostly with it to use nginx.

Generally, properly configured nginx can handle up to 400K to 500K requests per second (clustered), most what i saw is 50K to 80K (non-clustered) requests per second and 30% CPU load, course, this was 2 x Intel Xeon with HyperThreading enabled, but it can work without problem on slower machines.

You must understand that this config is used in testing environment and not in production so you will need to find a way to implement most of those features best possible for your servers.

Meteor Async Guide

From Meteor's documentation:

In Meteor, your server code runs in a single thread per request, not in the asynchronous callback style typical of Node. We find the linear execution model a better fit for the typical server code in a Meteor application.

This guide serves as a mini-tour of tools, trix and patterns that can be used to run async code in Meteor.

Basic async

Sometimes we need to run async code in Meteor.methods. For this we create a Future to block until the async code has finished. This pattern can be seen all over Meteor's own codebase:

Ruby wrapper to `mysqldump`. Intended to make setting up automatic cronjob backups easier by avoiding bash scripting.
Usage:
ruby mysql_backup.rb db:name [user:your_username] \
[password:your_password] \
[host:your_hostname] \
[file:output_file.sql]
Feel free to use, improve, etc. I'm new to Ruby, so excuse anything that makes your palm slap your forehead. ;)
