Automatically configure AWS SSO configuration file for all available accounts and roles
#!/bin/bash -e
# How to use this script:
# 1. Follow these instructions to configure a single AWS account to do initial login with SSO
# https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cli/latest/userguide/cli-configure-sso.html
# 2. Export AWS_PROFILE=... and then run "aws sso login" to get an SSO token
# 3. Once signed in with AWS SSO, run this script to automatically list out all the other accounts and roles and add them to your config file
# If you want to filter roles / accounts in the process, or validate config before committing it, you can customise the script to do this.

Sign and Verify signature using a SSL certificate. I've been wanting to play around with various RSA signing methods. Particularly around JWT RSA signed tokens and verifying a sig using the public key extracted from a website certificate. Some of the nuances of it all can be a bit tricky. As part of my effort to get my head around it I cobbled t…

Examples of sequential, concurrent and parallel requests in node.js

Concurrency in JavaScript

Javascript is a programming language with a peculiar twist. Its event driven model means that nothing blocks and everything runs concurrently. This is not to be confused with the same type of concurrency as running in parallel on multiple cores. Javascript is single threaded so each program runs on a single core yet every line of code executes without waiting for anything to return. This sounds weird but it's true. If you want to have any type of sequential ordering you can use events, callbacks, or as of late promises.

Settings to deploy to AWS Elastic Beanstalk on CircleCi (EB Cli 3)

This is how I configured the deploy of my rails apps to AWS Elastic Beanstalk through CircleCI 1.0.

If you are using the Circle CI 2.0, take a look at this article from ryansimms

Configure Environments Variables

On Project Settings > Environment Variables add this keys:

  • AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID
  • AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY
    The aws user must have the right permissions. This can be hard, maybe, this can help you.
