Agile & Feedback Reflection Guidelines
In interviews, you'll be asked about how you approach working in projects, and being able to describe how you utilize agile processes is a great way to help you stand out as a junior developer candidate. This reflection is meant to help you develop this skill.
With that in mind, please answer the following questions in your own gist about your group project:
What have you learned about the use of agile vs. waterfall in software projects?
Both are valuable practices, however the decision for what to use is dependant on what kind of project you are working on. Waterfall is best when you know what you are doing or if testing isn't feasible for the process. Compared to agile process, which is a great way to introduce a project through testing and easier to stop early to generate some revenue.
How did you and your group approach project management in this project (what tools did you use, how did you hold each other accountable, etc.)?
At University of Colorado, I learned some basic coding in my minor. The Technology, Art and Media minor introduced me to HTML and CSS, which I enjoyed. However, lacked the confidence to make a career of web development. I just pushed it aside and thought I couldn't make into my career. So like many others I graduated college and went into the corporate realm. I feel like I definitely learned a lot from my experiences working the last 6 years, but it always didn't feel like enough. I felt like I was doing monotonous work without utilizing my brain.
My friend, a Turing graduate, had previously tried to get me to attend Turing. However, I kept pushing it aside and making excuses that I wasn't smart enough to attend. I had to get in the right mind set first. I was hitting a wall in my career and realized that I knew what I wanted and it wasn't where I was at currently. I went to the try coding event and became aware that Turing would fill the void I was feeling in my ca
Why you want to connect with this person and what you want to talk about
I plan on connecting with an old friend from college who is a recent Turing graduate. We haven't kept in contact since college, so I see this as a chance to reconnect and find out more about their experiences since Turing. They also have a similar creative background to myself, so I'm curious on if they pull any of those experiences into their current job.
When you will contact them by and how you plan to meet
I got their current phone number from a mutual friend and will be setting up a coffee meet up with them to talk more about their current position and how life has been since Turing.

Why do you want mentoring in the job search?
I have experience with job search, however I feel new to the world of job search in this industry. Thus I thought it would valuable to receive feedback, so I learn best practices while I'm still in school. Thus developing stronger practices before I graduate.
